29 years ago, a chess-playing supercomputer named Deep Blue defeated world chess champion Garry Kasparov, becoming the first computer to beat a reigning champion.

Fast forward to 2026 and technology advancements are dominating the news, industries are changing right in front of our eyes, and people are seriously wondering if artificial intelligence is going to take over the world.

Maybe instead of playing chess against a machine that can think way more than two moves ahead, we should shift to good old-fashioned checkers and “jump” at the opportunities right in front of us.
