Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

putterJust because the golf season is all but over across a large majority of the country doesn’t mean that golfer still can’t stay focused on their game. Those wishing to improve their game have plenty of things they can do over the winter months to prepare themselves for a successful return when the weather gets back to true golf weather.

There are articles in Golf Digest and Golf Magazine to read, analyze and re-read. There is The Golf Channel where wintering golfers and watch instruction and professional tournaments to keep their appetite satisfied. YouTube has thousands of videos to watch or golfers can even find a local indoor driving range or build one in the garage like I did.

If nothing else, you can sharpen your short game by grabbing your putter and a putting mat and stroking 20-30 five-footers over and over again, reminding the body how important the consistency and tempo is to the golf swing.

Keeping Your Real Estate Game Sharp

Unlike the golf season in some parts of the country, the real estate market doesn’t ever take an off-season. Sure, traffic might slow down but one thing is for sure; regardless of the weather, the interest rates, the inventory levels or the time of year, someone will always be looking to buy and someone will always be looking to sell. The question is will you use the holidays and normal 1st quarter slow-down as an excuse or as a driving range?

How consistent are you with your short game? Those face-to-face moments when you can capture and/or convert a conversation into a closed transaction?

Are you continuously honing your game by reading articles, watching videos or listening to podcasts or webinars delivered by experts who can help you get in sync with the opportunities that are out there?

Have you practiced your dialogues, service techniques and listing presentation lately or will you just wait for the next time you’re on the first tee and hope you remember how to swing the club successfully?

Can you respond to the common objections with ease or will you just hope that your ball doesn’t bounce in a hazard the next time you’re out on the course?

Most of the best golfers in history were not only skilled with the clubs, they were almost always prepared and mentally tough.

Turns out most of the best Realtors in our industry can claim the same attributes when it comes to our game.
