Monday Morning Match is a simple post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

Welcome to the official “Dog Days of Summer.” We are just a few weeks before the school year starts back up, the sports calendar is currently stuck between major events in golf and tennis, an overly-boring baseball season, and just a few weeks until college and professional football start, and the weather has been hot, humid, and borderline miserable in many parts of the country. The summer blockbuster movies have come and gone and the new fall television season is still several weeks away from starting.

The real estate market remains active with fast-moving inventory and lots of demand from buyers, but momentum seems to be teetering on the edge. Some pundits are calling for a slowdown but the interest rates remain near historic lows and energy seems to be strong that the year will continue to hold it’s steady pace.

The choice is ours on how we will attack these “dog days of summer.” Will we seek a shady spot to sit and rest for a while, hoping that a burst of momentum will blow through like a breeze and refresh our energy or will we get off our asses and create the momentum needed, allowing us to finish the year strong? No matter where we are in relation to our goals, we can strive to simply achieve them or we could choose to go “all in” with our efforts and blow past our goals with a flurry of activity between now and the end of the year.

Take a deep breath, grab a sip of water, and remind yourself that the actions you take over the next 30 days will have a huge effect on how the year will end.

Make sure part of your plan includes building relationships, solving problems and having fun. After that, the rest of the actions you take should be pretty easy to figure out.
