Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

The holiday parties are in full effect. Secondary school kids, college students and university professors around the world are preparing for final exams. Gyms and exercise centers are preparing for the annual rush they will feel when everyone vows to “get back in shape” in the new year.

The new year will be here in 21 more days but that doesn’t mean we should be taking our foot off the accelerator. Heck, haven’t you heard it only takes 21 days to create a habit? That means if you stayed focused between now and the ball dropping in Times Square in three weeks, you could have created a new system, routine or aspect of your business, health or financial life that could make a huge impact in 2018.

Will you be putting seeds into the ground each day between now and New Year’s Eve, knowing that they could reap a huge harvest for you in a few short months?

Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.

– Robert Louis Stevenson

Can you follow-up on all the leads, opportunities and “nibbles” you’ve had over the last 12 months that might go from “just looking” to “ready to go”?

The weather is getting colder in many places around the country. It’s perfect weather to meet for a warm cup of coffee, hot chocolate or maybe a holiday libation at the local establishment with friends and future clients.

What draft of your new business plan are you working on right now?

When will you be taking vacations in the new year? What day will you block off on your schedule for rejuvenation? What time will you start and stop working?

What are some things you need to STOP doing between now and the new year that could free up some time, energy or money for the right things in your future?

It might be late in the 4th quarter…the bottom of the 9th…or maybe we’re in stoppage time? We’re all anticipating the final whistle, but plenty of games have been won by the team still giving their all when the end seems so close. It’s not over until it’s over.

Keep building relationships, solving problems and having fun.

Let’s stay focused and finish strong.
