Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

I cleaned out my toolbox today. I was amazed at how much other crap ended up in that box beside my tools. There were nuts and bolts, razor blades, pencils and plenty of others things that might have been useful for specific jobs, but weren’t going to help the every day fix-it repairs needed most often. The toolbox was just the depository for those extra pieces on some long-forgotten task.

I was also surprised at how I’ve amassed multiple pieces of the same tool – 8 different screwdrivers, 9 cutting blades and over 20 Allen wrenches? It appears that my toolbox was the resting spot for anything that might serve a home repair purpose at some point in the future.

Thankfully, I also had hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers and of course, the trusty measuring tape. The tools that will always help get the job done.

Have you cleaned out your toolbox lately? Do you have the most up-to-date versions of what is needed to build relationships, solve problems, and have fun?

Maybe it’s time to quit screwing around, nail down a few appointments, hammer out some new deals and get to work?
