Don’t Be Happy Floating in the Trough of Average

Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

We’re halfway home. This weekend marks the mid-point in the calendar year. 6 months down, 6 months to go. So here’s a simple question for you; “What is one thing you can do this week to become better?”

Now, before you even try doing anything, ask yourself if you really want to be better than you are right now. There’s no rule that says you have to do anything, so if you’re content and happy in your business, in your finances, in your health, in any area you can measure…then simply find a way to stay content and happy.

Just be sure you’re going to be okay floating in the “Trough of Average.”

The Trough of Average

You see on one side you’ll find the Land of Awful where some people wind up. The driven few will scratch and claw and find a way to make it through the turbulence and challenge and make it to the Bank of Awesome. In between lies the Trough of Average. Most people float between the shores but those who stay focused, persevere through conflict and minor setbacks and surround themselves with others headed to the good side will find a way to reach the shore, achieve their goals and become better.

Now the Trough of Average is where you’ll find most people. Some are treading water while others are learning to swim in the right direction. Sadly, a few will just float with the current like any old dead fish. Eventually, they’ll be washed up with all the people who gave up and stopped trying.

It’s time to start swimming in the right direction, with the right attitude, the right activities, and the right people. And you can take that to the Bank…of Awesome.

Keep building relationships, solving problems and having fun.
