Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

We are just a week away from the Summer Solstice here in North America. That means we’ll be at the official “midsummer” point in a few more days. The longest day of the year signals the time to, as farmers have been known to say,  “make hay while the sun shines.”

The Rooster Crows – Are you taking advantage of the early morning dawn and starting your day with something to feed your brain and body? Whether its meditation, exercise, yoga or a hearty breakfast, how you start the day will certainly impact the rest of your waking hours. Rise and shine!

Morning Has Broken – As the morning begins and the sun rises in the sky, what actions will you tackle that are “business development” focused. On the weekends, many people tackle chores like mowing the lawn before the heat and humidity become uncomfortable. What can you get done before lunch time that might turn to appointments or new opportunities later in the day, week or months ahead?

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the word

Morning Has Broken, Cat Stevens

Hot, Hot, Hot – In most parts of the country, the temperatures start creeping up in mid-June. In most parts of the country, the real estate markets start getting really busy in mid-June too because school is out and that means Sellers think it’s a good time to move and Buyers start making plans for a new home. What is on your schedule to get in front of potential clients this week? Schedule your Open Houses, property showings and door-knocking activities during this time of day.

Party on the Patio – Whether it’s a lemonade, sweet tea or cold adult beverage,  ending your day on a patio with family, friends or potential clients is always rewarding. Make it a point to sit down with someone this week as the shadows get longer and celebrate a great effort to build your business or to create a new opportunity to help someone with their real estate needs. There’s a reason they call it “Happy Hour.”

When The Sun Goes Down – As the sun drops down behind the trees, neighbors house or horizon, it’s time to finish up your day. Do you have any calls or emails to return? Is anyone awaiting a message, follow-up or paperwork from you? It’s critical that all loose ends are wrapped up before retiring for the day. As darkness arrives and the cooler breezes creep in, it’s time to put today in your review mirror and start getting mentally prepared for tomorrow. Maybe take a quick look at your schedule for tomorrow to see if you need to send a quick confirmation message to potential meetings

Bring on the Night – As the day comes to a close, it’s time to ready yourself for rest. As the stars come out, it’s time to ready yourself for some refreshing sleep. Turn off the notifications and sounds on the phone, do some quick reflection of your day and feed your brain with some positive thoughts about what is ahead. Lay your head on the pillow and ask yourself…”Did I build relationships, solve problems and have fun today?”

Now get to sleep. In a few more hours it’ll be time to do it all again.
