It’s the Same But Different

Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

Review, make changes, remove something, add something else.

I’ve been updating some presentations lately which sometimes requires adding completely new material while other times it is simply changing around a few graphics here or there. I’ve also been negotiating some contracts for clients. While the contract itself stays the same, the details and terms added in change from client to client.

Our schedules are constantly changing but the more we can keep them consistent, the greater chance we have to achieve our goals. Our business development activities might change but the goal of securing new customers and clients remains the focus. The market itself may be changing but no matter what happens with inventory or interest rates, it still remains a relationship business between the sellers and buyers.

As the Wizard of Oz wisely said, “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” Simply keep your eyes on the goal and do what you have to do. If what you’re doing isn’t enough, change something. Having some success? Stick to the plan and trust the system.

Don’t change because you feel like changing. Change because it will make something better, more efficient or more desirable for the customer.

Build relationships, solve problems and have fun this week. Do it the same as you’ve always done it…or do it differently. Just do something.
