make it right

When a customer or client brings a problem to your attention, do what you need to do to understand the problem. Then identify a way to solve the problem.

Don’t make excuses for why the problem exists. That is not what the customer is looking for. Instead, offer an apology or at minimum, an “understanding.” Listen, breathe and smile. Then ask, “What can I do to make things right?

Maybe you can’t fix the problem but you can begin to create a solution to the issue being caused by the problem.

There is nothing we can do” does not solve the problem, it just pushes the blame to someone else.

No one else has had this problem” assumes “no one else” is “everyone else.”

Listen to your fans, followers and friends and leave the excuses unsaid. Instead, leverage your skills, talents and/or genuine empathy to do what it takes to make things right.

When you make things right, it’s hard to be wrong.
