Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

3666061303_9af4c29361_zIt’s that time of year when everyone and his mother is making a list of some sort. Person of the Year. Sportsman of the Year. Top 10 Movies. Best Albums. Favorite TV Show. Highest Grossing Concert. And a whole list of others…

Someone should really make a list of the “Top Lists of the Year” list.

Have you made any lists yet to wrap up the year? Maybe you can take these next two weeks to compile a few that might just help you in the new year.

Carp’s Corner List of Lists for 2016

  • Who are your Top Clients from this past year? This doesn’t have to be every one of your clients who reached the closing table. Just list the ones you really enjoyed working for and would love to keep a relationship with. Then start thinking of what you can do to find more people like them to work with in the new year?
  • What were your top 5 Business Generating Activities? Are they already built-in to your daily/weekly schedule for the new year? Direct mail? Open houses? Internet Leads? Expired listings? Is there anything that was a waste of your time or money that you should delete?
  • Your Top 10 Referral Sources? Who…and where did you score most of your leads for business opportunities? Was it on social media? At the gym, church or school?
  • Best Method to Generate Contacts? Are you good at texting, email or phone calls? What about door-knocking or cold calling? What are your “go to” ways to secure more appointments?
  • Top 10 Classes? These can be online or in the classroom but what were your favorite classes in 2015? Who was the teacher? What was the topic? Why did you enjoy it so much? Will you take more like that next year?
  • Favorite Conferences? What events need to be on your 2016 schedule as “can’t miss” events? how can you be sure to get the dose of energy and enthusiasm you need to deliver amazing experiences day in and day out?
  • Create a Most Energizing People list. Who are the people you need to spend more time with, hang around or include in your daily or weekly routines to feed off their energy and positive spirit?
  • Draft a Most Toxic People List. This isn’t a list anyone wants to be on but we all know there are some people who just drain our energy and mojo with their permanent negativity and mean, myopic and misanthropic attitudes. Do your best to stay away from people on this list in the new year.
  • Top Things I Want To Do in 2016 list. I am a big believer in “living your life and letting real estate happen in the cracks.” What are those 4 or 5 things that you really want to check off your “to do list” in the new year outside of real estate? Where are you planning to visit or vacation at in the new year?

What are you waiting for? Grab a legal pad and a pencil and start writing the ideas that pop into your mind. Before you know it, you’ll have a bunch of tasks, people and concepts filling your head that will create a spark of enthusiasm to finish this year strong and kick off the new year with a bang.

I’ll help get you started…

3 Things to Do Every Day in 2016:
