I attended the final round of the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron with my son, Ryan. This is the fourth and final World Golf Championship event of the season. Any time you can witness the best in the world in a given industry up close and personal, it’s a great opportunity to learn something.
The World Golf Championship events are always an all-star field, composed of most of the best players in the world at the moment because it includes:
- Playing members of the 2014 US & European Ryder Cup Teams
- The Top 50 players in the current World Golf Rankings
- Tournament winners in the last year
- Major Tournament champions in several world Open or Tour Championships
Oh, and did I mention that none of the contestants get cut and everyone who finishes earns a paycheck? The winner this past week earned $1.570,000 while the guy who came in last place (77th) still earned $40,750. In other words, these guys had a guaranteed payday for playing this week.
