Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, we’d like to start boarding Success Airlines Flight 2015 to Achievement City. Please be aware this is a full flight and there is no additional room in the overhead compartments so be considerate of your fellow travelers. Just one carry-on and one personal item per person.”

We’ve all experienced this moment, haven’t we? The rush by some people to get in line while others sit causally on the gate area and wait until all others have boarded. On most flights, seats are pre-assigned so no need to hustle and bustle for a good spot in the queue.

So what’s your seat of choice?

Do you prefer the front of coach seating or are you more of a “back of the plane” kind of person? Those in the front like to get to the point and find their bearings early, while insuring they will be one of the first to the new destination. The back of the plane denizens are usually either poor planners or they like to be away from the spotlight. They aren’t in too much of a hurry because they know in the long run, the luggage isn’t getting to the baggage claim any sooner for 8A than it is for 38E.

IMG_4049Or maybe you earned first class accommodations because of your previous hard work and relationships? It certainly is nice to have some extra comfort and personal service during your journey but it comes with a price so as long as you’re willing to work for it, enjoy the ride.

Are you an aisle person – needing room to stretch and always being free to “move about the cabin”? Maybe you don’t like to feel confined and prefer to have options?

Maybe you are a window person – someone who is always looking out at the world around them but also doesn’t get claustrophobic with the world around them. They have the patience to stay in one place for a long period of time as long as they have a good view of what’s going on around them.

The middle seat crowd is either traveling with a companion or doesn’t plan ahead very well. You can certainly feel a bit restricted when you’re in the middle seat but if there’s ever a time to make sure others respect your elbow room and give you some space, this is it.

Do you seek out the Exit Row because you need some room to breathe or is it because you look for opportunities to help others?

Or maybe you’re just that laid back traveler who is chilling out in the gate area, waiting for your name to clear the stand by list. You’ll gladly take whatever seat you get, just happy to be headed to your destination but if you don’t make it on this flight, you’ll just head to the airport bar and grab a beer while you wait for your originally scheduled flight.

The main cabin door has been shut. Please turn off and stow all electronic devices. Just a few safety announcements before we depart. The flight attendants on board serving you today are Building Relationships, Solving Problems and Having Fun

Please buckle up, sit back and enjoy your flight.
