It’s been a tradition in our household for years now. My wife (and mother to our two children) will get an assortment of perennial flowers the week before and weather permitting, will plant them on Mother’s Day. For the last several years my daughter Riley helps. [Before anyone asks, it’s usually best if my son Ryan and I just stay out of the way…so we did.]
The fresh colors always make the gardens look wonderful and the hanging baskets and potted arrangements help to add a taste of spring to the patio and porches. It always amazes me what a few flowers can do to increase the appeal and aesthetic beauty of a setting. 
The flower arrangements are never designed to match the landscaping or floral displays of our neighbors. They really are just to add some personal flair and joy to the area we spend so much time in the spring and summer months.
