Monday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

Will people be talking about you in the year 2521?

That’s 507 years from now. Of course we’ll all be long gone by then but imagine if your legacy is still being talked about because of the amazing things you will do this week. A listing that you take this week might just change history. Or maybe it will be one of the buyers you work with? A phone call you make? A door you knock on?

Sure, it sounds crazy to think something this week could have a lasting impact. Some of us would be thrilled if something happens this week that leads to a closing in a few months or even a potential client in the new year. But imagine how long one moment can last in the annals of history.

Looking for Lisa Gherardini

3694927599_7c129ef843We’d all be so lucky to have a client as impactful as Lisa Gherardini. She just happens to be the lady that most people know as Mona Lisa and it was on this date in 1507 that Leonardo DaVinci was commissioned to paint the portrait that author John Lichfield said is “the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world”.

Sure, DaVinci was a well-known artist at the time but there is no way that anyone knew the place that canvas painting would have on the history of art and culture. It has been on permanent display at The Louvre in Paris since 1797.

Paint Your Masterpiece

I’m sure no one is expecting anything historic to come from your efforts this week but back when Francesco del Giocondo asked for a portrait of his wife, I’m guessing he wasn’t expecting it to become what it is today. Paint something awesome this week anyway.

Your name might not be as well-known as one of the most famous artists in the history of man but don’t let that stop you from bringing your vision to life.

The next person to hire you might not be some famous statesmen but treat them like a King or Queen anyway.

If nothing else, use your paintbrush to build relationships, solve problems and have fun. That approach is always suitable for framing.
