Burning-Match -derek-GaveyMonday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

Getting Thirsty?

It’s that time of the year when everyone wants to put on one last burst to the finish line. There’s just a little more than two months left until the new year so it’s now or never if you want to finish strong. Now might be the perfect time to grab a refreshing drink that can energize you, not only the work between now and December 31st, but also the new year that will soon be upon us.

Have you started drafting out your business plans for 2015? Early Fall is the traditional time to start working on what you want to happen in the new year because you have a majority of your current year to learn from (what worked, what didn’t, what could be better, etc.) while still having time to start implementing initiatives that will be necessary in the new year.

No one should wait until January to start planning their new year yet sadly many people procrastinate until after the holidays to truly decide what they want to accomplish in the next year. Start planning your marketing campaigns, identifying your vacations and days off and establishing a marketing budget that you will stick to. Pencil in a few client appreciation events for your 2014 supporters and maybe even determine what new community events you can participate in next year so you can get more opportunities to meet new people and develop future relationships.

Dig a well before you’re thirsty – Chinese proverb

No one wants their business to dry up so don’t delay in drafting out your ideas and thoughts for your business. Always begin with the end in mind then work backwards to determine how you will accomplish what you are expecting to do. It doesn’t matter what you’re trying to achieve if you don’t have a plan that helps you conceive a way to get it.

Start by building relationships, solving problems and having fun. If you focus on those three concepts and build your plan around that you’re almost guaranteed to succeed.
