Burning-Match -derek-GaveyMonday Morning Match is a quick post – maybe a quote, inspirational story or idea – intended to spark some motivation inside each of you so your week gets off to a fantastic start on Monday morning.

As you start your day you have a choice of what to focus on; The “big picture,” specifically what you want to accomplish by the end of the year, or you could zoom in your lens and only focus on what needs to happen today that can get you closer to the end of the year.

Putting a Puzzle Together

Have you ever put a puzzle together? The cover photo looks pretty or fun but you knew there would be some difficult parts. If you just focus on the big sections, the difficult parts would be smaller and therefore, easier. Sort of sounds like life, doesn’t it?

Unlike some puzzles with 1,000 pieces or even the most difficult ones of 2,500 or more, everyone who is trying to put the “puzzle of life” together has the same number of pieces – 365.

We have 49 pieces in place this morning. Today we’re all placing #50. That means we still have 315 left to go.

You’re not going to finish the puzzle today but you will place the next piece into position that will make it easier to place the next piece and the next piece and the next piece after that. Keep looking at the cover of the puzzle box to get your direction but focus today on placing the next piece into place.

“It isn’t the mountain ahead that wears you out – it’s the grain of sand in your shoe.” – Robert Service

Putting puzzles together isn’t that difficult because the instructions are right on the front of the box. You just have to decide which is the right piece to put your hands on today to make it all come together.

Have a great week putting the next pieces in place.
