Tickle Your To Do List – A Video Post

Staying organized is one of the hardest things to do. Everything seems to comes at us so quick these days.

We get emails and snail mails, tweets & texts, post-it notes and  pop up windows. Maybe there are even still people out there who tie a string around their finger so they don’t forget something important?

Like the old commercial says, “Calgon, take me away!”

So how can you stay more organized? How can you possibly create a system that might help you not feel so overwhelmed with things that everyone wants to pretend are urgent and important?

Maybe you could create and use a Tickler File to better organize your growing list of things to do?

Click here if you don’t see the video below.

I’d love to know how you stay organized.

Do you use something electronic or something tangible like a “to do list” or paper planner?

What cool apps have you found that help you stay sane and systematic?

Share your ideas or thoughts below in the comments section.

Until next time, add these three things to your To Do List:

  1.  Build relationships
  2. Solve problems
  3. Have fun

Great post Sean. That’s an excellent way to stay on top of your to do’s. I use something similar with my Outlook calendar, dropping emails on my calendar on future dates and creating reminders when I need to take action.

Thanks for sharing Sarah. Whatever works for you is what you should stick with. You seem to be pretty well organized so you shouldn’t have too many problems.

    Hi Sean,

I have a Red Book(as in Black Book 🙂 where I jot down all my to do list and carry with me in my purse. I like your system though. Seems more organized.

Nikki – Thanks for sharing. I think most people use a written to do list like your Red Book. The Tickler file seems to work well for me for bigger items that I need to see to be reminded of.

      I appreciate your comments.

Sean, I use a Tickler File for Birthday and House Anniversary Cards. On a snowy day in January, I sit by the fire and write birthday cards and notes for clients for the year, write the date they need to arrive where my return address sticker will go, and put it in the appropriate month. Always inspired by your messages! Thanks, Janet

Janet – That is a great system and very simple. I’m sure the people who get your cards really appreciate it.

Great tip! Love that it’s very simple and easy to do & visual at the same time to remind me daily. I use the To Do Bar on Outlook & I type an e-mail and save the e-mail into the drafts folder on Outlook so that I can edit the To Do List as needed & I like to print a copy to keep and have when I am away from my desk for a quick reminder. Thanks for sharing this tip. I need all the tips & ideas I can get to stay organized!
